Editorial
This volume contains a collection of
articles on the reception of classical thought. The
contents of the articles are outlined in an introduction by Kyriakos Demetriou,
who is responsible for commissioning and editing the articles. In addition there are the usual review articles and book
reviews, for which Peter Nicholson is responsible.
Volume 20 will return to our standard
mix of articles, review articles and book reviews. Among
the articles will be Paul Schollmeier’s ‘Aristotle and Women: Household and
Political Roles’.
This is the last volume under
Peter Nicholson’s editorship. Having retired from
the University of York in September 2001, after a total of thirty eight years’
teaching, he is now retiring as Editor. He became
editor of Polis with Volume 6 in 1986. Since
then, the journal has grown considerably, becoming larger, regular, and professionally
produced.
With Volume 20, Kyriakos Demetriou becomes
the Editor.
