Short-run Digital vs. Print-on-Demand
imprintdigital.net should not be confused with print-on-demand (good for reducing wholesale inventory, but at a high cost per copy). Order a minimum of 50 copies from imprintdigital.net and you will pay a low unit price, in the same ballpark as longer-run litho (and we don’t levy annual server storage charges). The unit price gets progressively better as you approach 750 copies, but from then on the per-copy savings are modest. But given the current economic difficulties, why gamble on a four-digit print run (which may or may not sell) when you can order batches of a few hundred copies at a time for a not-dissimilar unit cost? We are also happy to print small orders (under 50 copies) but the unit cost is greater.

No More Unnecessary Shipping and Pulping – Good for the balance sheet and the environment
We’ve all been seduced by low run-on costs and then ended up with excess stock. With short-run digital you only print the number you can be sure of selling over the next few months – no more wasteful trucking and pulping. This is of particular value to overseas publishers with UK distribution (who also benefit from the current weakness of the UK currency).

Paper Stock
All books are printed on FSC- certified publishing grades: 80gsm Opaque (Edixion Laser) or Volume 18 bookwove (Munken white or cream) and 240 gsm Trucard (covers). Smooth colour digital, heavyweight and other speciality papers are also available, please enquire for prices and samples.

Bleed
Full bleed is available at no extra cost on many text page sizes (please enquire). Cover artwork should be provided with a minimum 3mm added bleed margin in addition to the trim size.

Copy and Proofs
All material should be provided in pdf file format, with all fonts included. Text and covers should each be a single file, ready to impose and print. Full bleed is available at no extra cost on many text page sizes (please enquire). Material may be supplied on CDR, email attachment or uploaded.

For a one-off charge of £25 (£50 for randomly-placed colour) we impose the job and provide a printed and bound inspection copy for your approval prior to a minimum run of 50 copies (not necessary for advance publicity copies). The proof charge presupposes you present us with two print-ready pdf files (text and covers). Generation and addition of ISBN barcode: £12. Additional preparation work (including adding spines, merging chapters and changing data formats) charged at £25 per hour.
