Lady Thatcher was among the guests last night at the launch party for
the memoirs of her former adviser, Sir Alfred Sherman, entitled Paradoxes
of Power: Reflections on the Thatcher Interlude, at the Centre for
Policy Studies in Westminster.
"We could never have defeated Socialism if hadn't been for Sir Alfred," declared Lady Thatcher, resplendent in a turquoise suit, defying her doctor's advice to desist from public speaking. There was a flurry of concern later when it appeared her handbag was lost but it was soon recovered. Other guests included Sir John Hoskyns and Professor Ken Minogue. |
