Submission Guide for prospective authors
Imprint Academic does consider unsolicited book proposals, but the number
of titles we can take on is severely limited. We specialise in certain
areas, originally related to the journal titles that remain our core business,
and keep within that quite narrow focus.
An initial proposal should be sent to managing editor Anthony
Freeman and contain the following information:
-
Working title of book
-
Anticipated length
-
One-paragraph summary of subject matter
-
Outline of structure (e.g. chapter headings)
-
Specimen chapter (if available)
-
Target readership
-
Competing books already available
-
Likely date by which the manuscript could be completed
-
Brief CV of author
